The UCI Pump Track World Championships is one of the fastest-growing events in global action sports — elite competitors, international broadcast, and tens of thousands of spectators. Velosolutions, as rights holder and event financier, has confirmed Perth as the 2028 host city via formal Letter of Intent.
For Western Australia, this is a visitor economy and international event legacy opportunity that arrives once. Beyond the Championships, the facility hosts 20 to 25 global qualifier events annually — a sustained international event calendar, not a one-off.

Youth Activation Crisis: The Growth Window Is Now
The North Coast corridor is entering its highest population migration surge right now — 2026 to 2031. Current plans defer key youth active infrastructure until 2034 and 2037. That is 8 to 11 years too late. An entire generation of young people in WA's fastest-growing corridor will reach adolescence without a single high-progression active space within reach.
High-Density Urban Shift Demands a Response
The City's own planning report acknowledges "more intense and higher density development along the coastal corridor than previously envisaged." Smaller lots, townhouses, minimal private outdoor space. The State's fastest-growing community needs shared infrastructure that replaces what density takes away — and the population growth to justify it is already here.
International Event Legacy Unlocks State & Federal Grants
The City's plan mandates grant assistance to offset the projected $770.8 million corridor infrastructure cost. The 2028 World Championships LOI transforms this from a municipal line item into a State-significant international event legacy project — providing the exact leverage required to unlock substantial State and Federal sporting infrastructure grants.

Mountain Bike & Slopestyle
Technical trail features and slopestyle elements — bringing MTB into the precinct alongside the other disciplines.
BMX Racing
A dedicated BMX racing track serving the competitive pathway from grassroots through to national-level competition.
Scooter, Blades, Skates & Beginners
Inclusive infrastructure for every rider — scooters, inline skates, and dedicated beginner and balance bike areas for the youngest community members.
Working name: Wanneroo Action Sports Park (WASP) is the working name used for campaign purposes. The confirmed facility name and site location will be announced once land tenure is finalised.
