The Ask
We are requesting a 30-minute briefing with your office to present the Letter of Intent from Velosolutions — the world's leading pump track design and construction firm — and the formal support position of the City of Wanneroo, for the development of a UCI-standard facility to host the 2028 UCI Pump Track World Championships in Perth, Western Australia.
The Situation
Perth confirmed as 2028 host city
Perth has been confirmed as the host city for the 2028 UCI Pump Track World Championships. The event is secured. The facility is the only remaining condition.
City of Wanneroo has formally supported the proposal
The City of Wanneroo — WA's fastest-growing corridor — has formally engaged with this proposal. This evidence was formally submitted during the Draft North Coast Growth Corridor Community Facilities Plan engagement period.
Velosolutions Letter of Intent is in hand
Velosolutions — the global leader in UCI-certified pump track construction — has issued a Letter of Intent dated 8 May 2026. This is the first formal commitment from an international design and build partner.
Community demand is documented
87-respondent community survey. 4.7/5 importance rating for progression design. 71% preference for Regional or International scale. 15,400+ unique viewers across campaign reach.
Why This Matters to Your Portfolio
Lorna Clarke MLA — Youth & Community Services
WA's fastest-growing corridor faces a youth activation crisis. A UCI-standard facility addresses generational failure in structured youth infrastructure — delivering a permanent, multi-sport activation asset for the community.
Reece Whitby MLA — Tourism & Events
A confirmed international event legacy. The 2028 Championships generate visitor economy impact and position Perth as a recurring destination — with 20 to 25 global qualifier events annually once the facility is operational.
Rita Saffiotti MLA — Sport & Recreation
UCI-standard infrastructure creates elite pathways for WA athletes. This facility is eligible for State and Federal sporting infrastructure grants and aligns directly with WA's active recreation investment framework.
Tracey Roberts MP — City of Wanneroo
The State's fastest-growing community is undergoing a high-density urban shift that demands a State response. This facility is a catalyst infrastructure investment — not a local amenity, but a regional and international asset.

Why Pump Track Is a Different Proposition
Recurring annual qualifier circuit
Unlike a one-off championship, a UCI-certified pump track generates 20 to 25 global qualifier events annually. Perth becomes a permanent fixture on the international action sports calendar — not a single event, but an ongoing visitor economy asset.
Low infrastructure cost, high activation value
A UCI-standard pump track requires a fraction of the capital investment of a velodrome, aquatic centre, or stadium — yet delivers international event capability, daily community activation, and elite athlete pathway infrastructure simultaneously.
Multi-sport, multi-age activation
The facility serves BMX, mountain bike, skateboard, scooter, and inline skate users across all ages and skill levels — maximising daily utilisation and community health outcomes beyond event days.
Legacy — WA Athletes on the World Stage
A pathway that doesn't currently exist
WA has no UCI-certified pump track. Local riders with the talent to compete internationally have no home facility to train and qualify from. This facility changes that — permanently.
Perth riders competing at home in 2028
The 2028 Championships create a once-in-a-generation opportunity for WA riders to compete on the world stage in front of their own community — the kind of moment that defines a generation's relationship with sport.
A cycle and action sports legacy for WA
This is the foundation event for WA's position in the global action sports landscape. The facility, the championship, and the qualifier circuit together establish a legacy that outlasts any single government term.
